Summer Clerkship

Both right and left brained? If you are one of the rare law students who loves math, engineering, and science, then consider joining our firm as a summer clerk and helping us protect our clients’ IP rights related to such exciting fields as computer games, quantum computing, virtual reality, aircraft, motorcycles, fuel efficient vehicles, and more. Successful candidates will have earned high marks in their undergraduate and graduate studies, possess at least an undergraduate degree in engineering or science, and be registered as a patent agent with the USPTO or eligible to take the examination for registration. Native or near native English proficiency is required. Foreign language ability in Japanese, Mandarin, or German would help us better serve our international clients. Desire to live in Portland or Seattle long term a must. U.S. citizenship or permanent residence status preferred due to potential exposure to sensitive matters subject to U.S. export controls.
