Don Johnson, Ph.D. has previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and at the Army Research Laboratory. He has additional experience teaching science at the college level and working pharmaceutical start-up.
Research experience includes computational materials science, actinide geochemistry, density functional theory, quantum chemistry, and molecular dynamics. Scientific contributions include developing novel thermal barrier coatings for jet turbines, understanding structural strain energy in nanodiamond particles, and identifying hydrogen-embrittlement mechanisms in fusion reactor walls.
