A key focus of his practice includes portfolio development and design of patent systems within organizations.
Michael brings an inventor’s perspective and individualized approach to his client advocacy. Prior to serving as an attorney, he contributed to patented inventions within the fields of hybrid electric vehicles, internet search, media applications, and mobile devices. As a client advocate, Michael emphasizes inventor-focused initiatives, including inventing through concept-driven brainstorming sessions and rewarding innovation.
Beyond technology-based patents, Michael supports brand development and brand management efforts of his clients through trademark prosecution, clearance searching, and freedom to operate counseling. His parallel education in studio art and mechanical engineering has greatly contributed to an ongoing interest in protecting clients’ product design and goodwill through a balanced IP strategy involving coordinated trademark, patent, and copyright components.
